XRP Near $1.36 As Binance Inflows Hit $652M

More than 472 million XRP moved onto Binance in a week as the token hovered near $1.36. The transfers, flagged by CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost, represent the largest February inflow stretch on the exchange and raise the risk of near-term sell pressure.

According to data shared by Darkfost, the inflows accelerated in late February, with several daily spikes far exceeding earlier monthly levels. The surge coincided with escalating geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Strikes launched over the weekend, shortly after traditional markets closed, intensified uncertainty across risk assets.

Are Binance Inflows Signaling Broader XRP Distribution?

Chart data cited by the analyst shows clustered inflow bars during the period, while XRP price action remained unstable.

“Such inflows typically reflect a more defensive posture from investors holding XRP,” Darkfost wrote.

He added that large movements onto exchanges often indicate a willingness to sell or reposition liquidity closer to the market.

Exchange inflows do not confirm immediate liquidation, but they shift supply into venues where it can be sold quickly. During prior risk-off episodes, similar spikes in exchange balances have preceded elevated volatility across major tokens. Large transfers to centralized exchanges frequently align with liquidation cascades or discretionary selling when macro stress builds.

“When amounts of flows like this are recorded, they can create the conditions for a sudden wave of selling pressure capable of impacting price action in the short term,” Darkfost stated.

He said traders should monitor whether the activity marks the beginning of a broader distribution cycle or short-term panic linked to geopolitical headlines.

Still, geopolitical shocks often prompt traders to reduce directional exposure and increase liquidity access rather than immediately exit positions. The next catalyst will likely be whether inflow momentum persists through the week or reverses as Middle East tensions stabilize.
