Trump Media & Technology Group is taking steps to integrate artificial intelligence into its Truth Social platform, signaling ambitions to expand its digital footprint beyond social media.
In a press release this week, the company confirmed that it has filed trademark applications for two new initiatives: “Truth Social AI” and “Truth Social AI Search.” Though details are sparse, the move suggests Trump Media is eyeing AI-powered tools to enhance user experience and boost engagement.
CEO Devin Nunes described the AI effort as a step toward making Truth Social a platform for “reliable information, non-woke news, and entertainment.” But so far, there’s been no word on how the technology will be implemented or when users can expect to see it in action.
A Platform with Big Ambitions and a Modest User Base
As of early 2025, Truth Social reported 6.3 million users—a fraction of the reach enjoyed by platforms like Facebook, which had over 3 billion monthly active users in 2023. Still, the announcement sparked a brief bump in investor confidence. Trump Media’s shares climbed 5.5% on Wednesday, outpacing the broader Nasdaq, despite ongoing financial struggles.
The company posted a $31.7 million net loss in Q1 2025, with $8.8 million in revenue—most of it from advertising. Trump Media’s challenge now is to diversify its business model and capture new revenue streams. The AI initiative appears to be one piece of that puzzle.
Expanding Beyond Social: Bitcoin, ETFs, and AI
The AI trademark filings are part of a broader effort by Trump Media to evolve into a more complex digital enterprise. In recent months, the company has:
- Raised $2.3 billion through stock offerings and convertible notes
- Announced plans to build a Bitcoin-backed corporate treasury
- Filed proposals for several crypto ETFs, including one tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum and another focused on major altcoins like Solana, XRP, and Cronos
These moves hint at a vision that combines crypto, social media, streaming, and now artificial intelligence—all under one digital ecosystem.

Still, risks remain. In its latest filing with the SEC, Trump Media warned that it expects “significant operating losses” as it scales its platform and streaming infrastructure. And while AI has proven transformative for many tech firms, it's unclear whether Truth Social’s smaller user base can generate the volume or data scale to compete meaningfully in the AI space.
