Tether Partners with Rumble to Drive USAT Stablecoin Adoption in the U.S.

Tether is turning to social video platform Rumble to accelerate adoption of its new U.S.-focused stablecoin, USAT. Speaking at the Token2049 conference in Singapore, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino revealed that Rumble will roll out a crypto wallet powered by Tether’s technology later this year, giving its 51 million monthly users direct access to stablecoins.

“The aim is to prove how we can convert Rumble’s user base, mostly in the United States, to use stablecoins within the U.S., the most sophisticated nation for financial rails,” Ardoino said during the panel discussion.

Tether’s Strategic Bet on Rumble

Tether has already invested heavily in Rumble, committing $775 million last year for a 48% stake in the platform, according to Bloomberg data. The integration of a Tether-powered wallet represents the next phase of that partnership, with the goal of positioning USAT as a mainstream payment and transaction tool for U.S. consumers.

Tether to Distribute Coins on Conservative Video Platform Rumble
Tether Holdings SA will lean on conservative video streaming platform Rumble Inc. to help distribute tokens as it seeks to conquer an increasingly competitive US crypto market.

Launched in September, USAT is Tether’s newest stablecoin, pegged to the U.S. dollar and designed specifically to operate under American regulatory standards. It builds on the success of Tether’s flagship token USDT, the world’s largest stablecoin, which currently has a circulating supply of $174.6 billion, according to data.

Expanding Beyond Crypto

While Tether earned roughly $13 billion in 2024 from its core stablecoin business, the company is widening its scope beyond digital assets. Recent moves include investments in telecommunications and energy infrastructure. Bloomberg recently reported that Tether is seeking to raise up to $20 billion at a valuation of $500 billion to accelerate these expansion efforts.

Ardoino highlighted that part of Tether’s future growth strategy includes supporting financial access in underserved regions. He pointed to Africa as a key market, saying the company could scale up to 150,000 payment kiosks by 2030, creating “a massive economy around USDT and the dollar” in the region.
