Snoop Dogg’s Telegram NFT Collection Sells Out in 30 Minutes, Signaling Possible Revival for Digital Collectibles

Is the NFT market making a comeback? It might be too soon to call, but Snoop Dogg’s latest drop is making waves. The rapper’s new non-fungible token (NFT) collection launched on Telegram Wednesday and sold out in just 30 minutes—defying widespread skepticism that NFTs are yesterday’s news.

Powered by the TON blockchain, the collection featured roughly 996,000 unique digital gifts inspired by Snoop’s signature style. The release generated $12 million in sales, according to Telegram founder Pavel Durov.

“Blockchain minting and the secondary market go live in 21 days. It’s going to be wild,” Durov said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

What’s in the Collection?

The NFTs—called Telegram Gifts—include a mix of animated icons like vintage cars, digital dogs, marijuana motifs, and other Snoop-style visuals. These digital assets aren’t just collectibles; users can display them on their Telegram profiles or convert them into the app’s in-platform currency, Stars.

To add to the excitement, Snoop also dropped a new single called “Gifts,” complete with a music video featuring all the collectibles in the series. The drop quickly drew praise across social media, with fans and NFT enthusiasts calling the move “legendary.”

NFTs Have Been Down—But Not Out

The hype comes at a time when the broader NFT market has been struggling. NFT sales volume plummeted by 61% in Q1 2025, down to $1.5 billion compared to $4.1 billion a year prior. In the last 30 days alone, the market has seen another 41% drop, with transactions falling more than 55%, CryptoSlam data shows.

Despite the slump, some in the Web3 space see the successful launch as a turning point. Zenith, the NFT lead at TON, noted that while Telegram Gifts have been around since January, the overwhelming response to Snoop’s collection could “be the start of a new NFT Narrative.”

“Telegram Gifts have the most unique utility—the ability to wear them on your profile,” Zenith said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if other famous brands or Web3 IPs want to launch gifts too. Now, the question is: will they?”

Snoop Dogg: A Veteran in Web3

This isn’t Snoop Dogg’s first rodeo in the NFT space. He’s been active since the NFT boom in 2021. In 2022, he partnered with The Sandbox to launch “The Doggies,” a metaverse-based collection. And in 2023, he dropped the “Snoop Dogg Passport Series,” offering fans exclusive behind-the-scenes content through NFTs.
