PumpSwap Launches Revenue-Sharing Model to Reward Meme Coin Creators on Solana

In a move poised to shake up the decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape on Solana, Pump.fun’s decentralized exchange, PumpSwap, has introduced a revenue-sharing model aimed squarely at meme coin creators. Beginning May 12, token creators can now earn 50% of trading revenue from their tokens—an industry-first incentive designed to attract more developers and liquidity to the platform.
Under this model, creators receive 0.05% of their token’s trading volume, paid in SOL (Solana’s native token). The rewards can be claimed at any time by connecting the original wallet used to create the token directly on the Pump.fun platform.
The initiative comes amid Pump.fun’s rapid ascent in the DeFi space. Since its launch, PumpSwap has reached a daily trading volume of $80 million—an impressive milestone in a short span. While still trailing behind Solana DEX heavyweight Raydium, which handles over $500 million in daily trades according to CoinGecko, PumpSwap is quickly positioning itself as a creator-first alternative.
The move reflects a broader strategy by Pump.fun to boost engagement and cement its position in the growing meme coin ecosystem. By sharing revenue with creators, the platform hopes to build loyalty among developers, attract higher-quality token projects, and foster a more vibrant trading environment.
Revenue-sharing is not a new concept in DeFi, but PumpSwap’s execution is uniquely aggressive. It removes barriers such as migration fees to external exchanges by allowing tokens to list immediately after their bonding curve sale ends. This frictionless launch process has already proven attractive to developers eager to get their coins to market faster.

So far in 2025, Pump.fun has generated over $296 million in transaction fees, outpacing even Ethereum’s $249 million in the same timeframe. Despite a brief slowdown in March, the platform bounced back strongly, with daily revenues hovering between $1 million and $2 million in May.
The broader implication? PumpSwap’s creator-centric model could spark a wave of innovation across Solana’s DeFi ecosystem. As meme coins continue to dominate headlines and social media attention, giving creators a slice of the revenue may encourage longer-term project development and help shift the perception of meme tokens from fleeting fads to sustainable micro-economies.
