Mistral AI has rolled out a major update to its chatbot Le Chat, introducing a suite of features aimed at turning the assistant into a more capable, conversational, and context-aware tool for both casual users and professionals. One of the headline features is Deep Research, which transforms Le Chat into something closer to a full-fledged research assistant. Rather than spitting out a quick answer, this mode breaks down complex queries, searches for credible sources, and delivers a structured, citation-backed report. Whether you’re exploring market trends or academic topics, it’s designed to help users grasp information in a clear, organized format.
Speak Naturally with Vocal Mode
For users who prefer talking to typing, the new Vocal mode is powered by Mistral’s own low-latency voice model, Voxtral. This upgrade allows users to have natural, real-time conversations with Le Chat. Think brainstorming sessions while walking, quick voice queries when your hands are full, or even meeting transcriptions—all without the awkward lag that often plagues voice interfaces.
Reasoning in Any Language
Also new is Think mode, which taps into Mistral’s reasoning engine, Magistral. It enables thoughtful, context-rich responses to complex or abstract questions. One standout feature: seamless multilingual support. You can switch languages mid-sentence—Spanish to English to Japanese—and Le Chat will keep up, making it ideal for global users or anyone working across language barriers.

Le Chat’s new Projects feature helps users stay organized by grouping related conversations, files, and notes in one place. Each project retains your preferences and context, making it easier to manage longer-term efforts like planning events, writing reports, or coordinating personal goals.
Creative Control with Image Editing
Visual thinkers get an extra boost thanks to a new collaboration with Black Forest Labs. Le Chat now supports advanced image editing, allowing users to modify generated images using natural language prompts—like removing objects or relocating the scene. It brings AI-generated visuals one step closer to personalized design tools.
All of these features are now live and available through the Le Chat web interface or mobile app, marking a significant leap forward in usability and depth.
