Ethereum Layer 2 network Linea experienced a brief disruption in block production on Wednesday, just hours before its much-anticipated token generation event (TGE).

According to Linea’s status page, the Consensys-backed project halted block production at around 1:25 a.m. ET after reaching block 23,145,386. Service resumed at 2:32 a.m. ET, marking a 67-minute downtime.

While the network did not immediately disclose the cause, Linea confirmed it had identified the issue and deployed a fix. The team noted that operations are now stable.

The outage came at a critical moment for Linea, as the network prepares to launch its TGE later in the day. The event includes the airdrop of more than 9.36 billion LINEA tokens to eligible wallets. The claim window will remain open for 90 days, from September 10 through December 9. Any unclaimed tokens will revert to the Linea Consortium Ecosystem Fund, which supports development across both the Linea and Ethereum ecosystems.

Eligibility for the airdrop was determined through a snapshot taken in July. The TGE is expected to be a major milestone for Linea, expanding participation in its ecosystem while rewarding early supporters.
