Kalshi has removed all affiliate badges from accounts on X following new rules restricting paid promotions tied to gambling and sports betting. The change limits visible markers of formal partnerships, signaling tighter oversight.
The badges identified influencers and affiliates who promoted Kalshi event contracts under revenue-sharing arrangements. They were not employees but indicated a formal relationship. Multiple accounts, including one called "Prediction News," confirmed their badges were removed and flagged as "under review." The updates follow X’s broader paid partnership and promotional content rules, rolled out last week to curb undisclosed advertisements.
How Will Stricter Disclosure Rules Affect Prediction Market Growth?
X’s Head of Product, Nikita Bier, flagged undisclosed promotions, warning accounts that failing to disclose partnerships could result in suspension.
“Add a follow-up reply disclosing that this is a paid promotion for Kalshi. Otherwise, this will result in a suspension,” Bier wrote in response to one account.

Accounts had to clarify prior posts, emphasizing that undisclosed commercial relationships erode public trust in platform content.
Affiliate marketing has been a major growth driver for prediction markets, particularly around political or macro events. Restricting badge visibility or requiring stricter disclosures may push affiliates toward organic engagement or alternative channels. Polymarket, a competitor, still retains its X badges and previously announced a formal integration to display prediction market data directly on the platform.
Kalshi removed the badges voluntarily, according to Front Office Sports. Industry observers note that limiting visible promotion markers could reduce the efficiency of traditional affiliate campaigns and force platforms to adapt to changing social media enforcement.

Market participants and influencers will now watch whether Kalshi affiliates pivot to other marketing methods or move to competing platforms. The next catalyst could come from X clarifying enforcement thresholds or how badges might be reinstated under revised compliance conditions.
