Doodles Expands Access to DOOD Token with 'New Blood' Airdrop Initiative

As the Doodles NFT project prepares for its upcoming DOOD token generation event, the team has released new details on how newcomers—dubbed "New Blood"—can participate in the airdrop, even without owning a Doodles NFT.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Doodles announced that eligible New Blood participants will automatically receive tokens from the airdrop, with no manual registration required. This move is part of the broader "New Blood Fund," which aims to welcome fresh faces into the Doodles ecosystem through strategic partnerships and community outreach.

The fund will allocate tokens to members of nine partner communities at launch. These include top traders using BonkBot, contributors to ElizaOS, early adopters of Solana Mobile's upcoming second device, and the top 5,000 stakers on Helius. To assist users from the Solana community in confirming their eligibility, Doodles plans to release a verification tool "soon."

The New Blood Fund is no small gesture. It represents the fourth-largest allocation of the DOOD token, which has a total supply of 10 billion tokens. According to the project's tokenomics roadmap, this portion will support a variety of initiatives—ranging from creator incentives and marketing campaigns to airdrops for participants in contests or those holding related collections.

Doodles first unveiled plans for the Solana-based DOOD token in February. Of the total supply, 30% is allocated to the community, 25% to an ecosystem fund, 17% to the core team, and the remaining balance to liquidity, New Blood participants, and company reserves.

Following the announcement of the DOOD token, interest in the Doodles collection surged. Weekly trading volume spiked to more than $16 million shortly after the February reveal. Most recently, between April 27 and May 4, trading activity generated $1.55 million.

Launched in October 2021, Doodles has cemented its place as one of the earliest and most recognizable NFT collections. Known for its vibrant, hand-drawn art, the project has cultivated a dedicated community and notable brand collaborations—including a campaign with McDonald’s in late 2024 that featured Doodles designs on over 100 million McCafé holiday cups.

With a floor price currently hovering around 3.75 ETH (approximately $6,400), Doodles continues to hold strong in the NFT market. To date, the collection has more than 3,889 unique owners and has generated a lifetime trading volume of approximately 341,900 ETH, or over $600 million, according to OpenSea.
