Crypto exchange Bitget has announced a three-year partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg aimed at bridging the digital skills gap for young women in developing regions. The collaboration, part of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition program, will focus on blockchain education, with a goal to empower up to 300,000 participants by 2025.
The initiative targets adolescent girls, parents, educators, and mentors across eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. Participants will gain access to hands-on blockchain training, including a new interactive module developed by Bitget Academy, the company’s educational arm.
This module will blend virtual and in-person sessions, focusing on skills such as video game development, aiming to make blockchain technology approachable and applicable to real-world creative industries.
The program comes in response to alarming statistics from UNICEF, which found that young women in low- and middle-income countries miss out on $15 billion in economic opportunities annually due to disparities in digital access and skills. With 90% of jobs today requiring digital literacy, closing this gender gap is no longer optional—it’s essential.
Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to equity and empowerment.
“By partnering with Bitget, we want to equip young people—especially girls—with the knowledge and confidence to shape their own futures,” she said.
As part of the initiative, Bitget also plans to introduce leading blockchain developers and protocols from across the Web3 space to participate as mentors and supporters. The program will be further supported by Blockchain4Her, Bitget’s $10 million fund dedicated to advancing women in blockchain through mentorship, education, and funding.
This partnership complements Bitget’s broader educational mission, which also includes the Blockchain4Youth campaign—a separate $10 million initiative supporting scholarships, hackathons, and workshops for young people globally.
Earlier this year, Bitget also partnered with Avalanche to promote grassroots blockchain adoption across India, reinforcing its expanding footprint in education and inclusion efforts across emerging markets.
