AI Prescription Startup Tandem Hits $1 Billion Valuation with Accel-Led $100 Million Funding

Tandem Technology Inc., a healthcare tech startup focused on streamlining medical prescriptions through artificial intelligence, has reached a $1 billion valuation after its latest funding round. According to people familiar with the matter, Tandem secured $100 million in new investment, led by venture capital firm Accel.

Based in New York, Tandem is working to make the prescription process easier for both patients and providers. Its platform, which is free to use, automates the paperwork and phone calls involved in prior authorizations and routing prescriptions to pharmacies—two of the biggest bottlenecks in getting medicines to patients.

Tandem’s mission is to remove administrative hurdles so patients can get the treatments they need more quickly. The startup has backing from several high-profile investors, including Thrive Capital and General Catalyst. With this latest Series B round, Tandem has raised a total of $137 million to date.

General Catalyst previously led Tandem’s $30 million Series A round in 2024. While the company hasn’t made its fundraising efforts public, its rapid rise reflects strong interest in using AI to modernize healthcare administration.

Looking ahead, Tandem hopes to partner with biopharma companies to accelerate the development and rollout of new drugs. The company projects that millions of patients will use its platform in 2026, as more healthcare providers adopt its technology.
